New Millennium World Peace Humanity Conference
06/15/2001

Twelve thousand world-renowned scholars, thinkers, and social activists gathered together in Seoul, South Korea on June 15, 2001 to attend the New Millennium World Peace Humanity Conference.

The conference was presented by the New Millennium Peace Foundation (NMPF), a non-governmental, independent organization founded by Ilchi Lee and Neale Donald Walsch in 1997. NMPF invited prestigious academicians, journalists, activists, and experts in the fields of religion, journalism, culture, and the environment to make presentations and engage in discussions with an international audience. It was an ambitious attempt at exploring the Earth Citizen philosophy and sought ways to put it into practice to foster a more peaceful, sustainable global culture. Speakers at the event included former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, environmental activists Maurice and Hanna Strong, anthropologist and advisor to UNICEF Dr. Jean Houston, Baptist pastor Rev. Wyatt Tee Walker, and renowned journalist Seymour Topping.
