Earth Citizen Movement
Saturday, 8/15/2009

The International Brain Education Association (IBREA) started the Earth Citizen Movement as a practical way for people to exercise our brains innate potential for peace. Formally beginning in April 2009, the movement was inspired by Ilchi Lee’s concept of “Earth Citizen”—a person who recognizes the planet Earth as the primary element uniting all humanity.

The Earth Citizen Movement has initiated the One Dollar Project, a campaign based on Ilchi Lee’s belief that humanity’s current problems can only be solved through its collective awareness reaching an understanding that humanity is one and all are citizens of earth, regardless of religion, race, and culture. Since its inception in early 2009, participants in the One Dollar Project have donated at least one dollar a month to create a better future for the Earth and humanity. Donations go to the United Nation's environment-restoring efforts, humanitarian projects, and fighting malnutrition and illiteracy. So far, donations have been forwarded to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)'s The Billion Tree Campaign, UNICEF's HIV “Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission” (PMTCT) program, and aid for Cambodian children.
