I have come to the earth, for I love the earth.
As the earth that was healthy and beautiful
has grown diseased and suffers,
I have come for the sake of the earth.
With many people,
I have come out of love for the earth.

We feel the need
for a new culture and a new spirit
that serves the earth.
Now is the time for the people
who have come to this earth
out of love for the earth
to have conversations, heart-to-heart.

Through a Cultural Olympics,
may the people who love the earth come together.
Through a Cultural Olympics,
may we witness the evolution
of human consciousness.
There will come an age of Love for the Earth
and Love for the Human,
and respect for all peoples and religions and Life.

Envisioning a new birth of the beautiful earth,
a Spiritual UN will be established on this planet.
For the earth has fallen ill
to facilitate the spiritual growth of humankind.

The growth of human consciousness
will be realized through our love for the earth.
People who have achieved spiritual growth—
these people are Earth Humans.

Many people correctly understand what it means to master their brains. Some, on the other hand, wonder whether there was ever a time when they weren’t the master of their brain. How could it be possible not to be the master of their brain?

Many people correctly understand what it means to master their brains. Some, on the other hand, wonder whether there was ever a time when they weren’t the master of their brain. How could it be possible not to be the master of their brain? They think because they studied hard in school and got good grades or bad grades based on their brain’s abilities, they were always the master of their brain.

However, being a true master of your brain isn’t about doing what others tell you to do. Say someone told you to do 100 math problems, and you just solved them without question. Whose brain did this? Although your brain solved the problems, the person who issued the instructions to do them is its master. Living surrounded by instructions, we don’t realize how much they influence us. We believe this is being the masters of our brains. But it’s not.

The kind of brain mastery I’m talking about is creating and asking your own questions. When your brain answers them, you can take those answers with you. You own them; you did not ingest them passively and blindly. For example, most people have smart phones. These phones have countles advertisements that pop up for you to see. If you keep looking at those advertisements habitually and automatically, then who is master of that smartphone? You paid for it, but if your brain is moved by all of that information, then you are not master of it.

A master determines whether information contributes to his or her values. You should be able to choose it. You are the master of your brain only when you can determine whether different emotions and habits contribute to your family’s happiness and to realizing your own values, and then choose the ones that do. If advertising makes you feel unhappy about buying something, if you have to buy what they are selling to feel happy, then, ultimately, you’re made a slave by the person who conveys the information to you through the smartphone you keep carrying.

You have the power to search for information and the power to cut yourself off from information. These days, if you look, you’ll see that everyone is getting hacked. You can say that you are the master of your brain when, with your own insight and philosophy as one who has observer consciousness, you can judge these different things for yourself.

To be able to do that, your mind needs to reach the zero point. The zero point is a perspective of neutrality, balance, and clarity; it exists at the very center of your consciousness. Only when you have reached the zero point will you understand the true substance of all information and find your true value. You’ll be able to see where some information has come from, why you were made aware of it, and what significance it has for your own value and life. Without reaching zero point, however, you cannot make such judgments because you do not have a valid basis for comparison.

People who learn their true value do not have the drive to possess or rule. Rather, they discover the will to create a peaceful and harmonious world. When those people carry out their will, then an era of spiritual civilization will overtake our current material civilization. That is what it means to be the master of your brain, and it is the reason to recover your zero point with meditation.

The waters of Oak Creek ripple through the Verde Valley bringing the green blush of deciduous trees hinted at in the valley’s name. I sat on the bank of one part of the creek recently, dangling my feet in the chill water. Here, the water level was shallow, and my feet brushed against the rough gray stone below. I let my mind sink into the sensation, delighted for a moment’s respite from an always demanding schedule.

After more than thirty years of daily meditation and a mindful lifestyle, my mind easily opened to the natural feast for the senses around me. The steady rushing and trickling of the water over the rocky and uneven creek bottom, the numbing coolness of the water and rock against my skin, the fresh greenness in the air with the faint scent of spring flowers all embraced me.

My mind did not remain with my senses, however. Its awareness soon went deeper and wider, and I could sense the spirit and soul of the earth that underlies and animates its form. As I did, my own spirit and soul felt more alive and I merged with that of the earth. I rejoiced as the boundaries between myself and nature shimmered into nothing.

And then I became nothing. As my consciousness descended even deeper and wider, I dropped down to the origin, the center of all, where nothingness is everything. I was beyond the compilation of cells and experiences and ideas known as Ilchi Lee. I became consciousness itself—the ultimate awareness and source of creation. I could see everything in that nothingness; it was in harmony and balance. From that perspective, everything was without flaw.

At the same time, Mother Earth, Mago, called to me, and I felt the usual urgency. In that ongoing moment of fundamental peace, I could still feel the mission that had been burning in my heart for years, and I knew once again that everyone needed to bring their awareness to zero point, to nothingness, and become the creative observer that could view the universe with clarity and balance. Only with this creative observer consciousness could the citizens of the earth adopt a lifestyle that expressed the absolute and essential values that exist at zero point when all that is ephemeral is stripped away. Only with this consciousness could all of us work together to imagine the creative solutions for changing the systems we operate under to be in alignment with these values. Only with this consciousness could we all live with love, oneness, and peace.

The towering red rocks looked ever more majestic when I opened my eyes. I got up and began my work again.

When people fight, they think that they’re just fighting. When they put others down with caustic remarks, it may seem as if they are just bruising their psyche. But if you look deeper, you’ll see they are damaging more than that.

When people fight, they think that they’re just fighting. When they put others down with caustic remarks, it may seem as if they are just bruising their psyche. But if you look deeper, you’ll see they are damaging more than that. If you zoom in to the magnification of LifeParticles, the elementary particles we are all made of, you’ll be able to observe the “dark holes” in the subtle electric and magnetic fields within and around our bodies.

LifeParticles have the properties of electricity and magnetism. As compositions of LifeParticles then, everything that exists—our body, the earth, the sun—also generates electric and magnetic fields. Electricity and magnetism are interrelated as two sides of the same coin. Electric currents, the flow of charged particles, produce electric and magnetic fields. Magnetic fields affect the flow of electric currents.

Excessive worry, anxiety, and negativity from within and without weakens the body’s magnetic field. When the magnetic fields of two or more people clash, their protective layer of energy tears. Too many of us are walking around with damaged and weak magnetic fields. If our energy field is damaged, it’s bound to result in emotional turmoil. That is the main stressor and the cause of the mental disease that underlies many of our personal and societal issues. On the other hand, when the electricity and magnetism in our bodies is healthy, then emotionally and mentally we are also very stable and healthy.

To repair, utilize, and magnify the electricity and magnetism of our body, we do not need complex technology. We simply need to practice meditation. Meditation adjusts our energy and our brain, which go hand in hand. The magnetic field produced by the brain is generated from the blood that flows through it and from the electrical impulses created by the flow of ions through nerve cells. Therefore, when we change our thoughts, we change our brain’s wiring, and we change our magnetic and electric fields. The process also works in reverse. A “healthy” magnetic field means a healthy brain, which produces a healthy life, and collectively creates a healthy society.

I’ve been guiding meditation for over thirty years now. Some people have trouble learning and doing meditation; they have trouble managing their thoughts and focusing. However, I’ve found that if you do energy meditation, if you simply feel your energy, it’s much easier to focus. The moment you feel the energy, that’s the best meditation because you cannot feel energy unless you focus. The easiest way to feel energy, I’ve found, is to use magnets. I call it Magnetic Meditation.

Everyone can feel the push and pull of two magnets as they play with them. If we keep playing with them–moving them toward and away from each other or circling them around each other or our body in any way we like—and observing our body as we feel the magnetic pull, we’ll be able to feel our own energy more strongly and clearly because magnets expand and magnify our energy. Also, concentrating on the magnetic sensations focuses our mind so we can sense our own energy more easily.

As we focus, our brain will return to a completely normal and healthy state. The more we focus on our energy, the more quiet our mind becomes—all of our idle or unnecessary thoughts disappear.

We don’t have to do Magnetic Meditation for a long time. Just five minutes is more effective than an hour of most other kinds of meditation. Typically, when one starts meditating, it takes a long time to get into a calm state of mind. But with magnets this happens very quickly. If we were to do Magnetic Meditation every time we had some free time, or five minutes at a time three times a day, we could experience a more profound change in the condition of our brain and magnetic field, which would lead to a change in our consciousness.

With that change, we would wake up in the morning refreshed with energy, rejuvenated, and confident. Our voice would carry more power, we would glow with brightness, and we would be free of addictions and victim mentality. Most of all, by keeping our magnetic field and brain healthy, we could maintain an absolute and enduring peace.

We are standing at a crossroads—a moment of destiny in which one of two options must be chosen. Is humankind to come to an end, or will there be a new and great beginning? One by one, each of us takes a step forward choosing the path that we wish for our world, every action another step.

Currently, the greed of humans is leading us down the path of destruction. If we continue down this path the devastation of the earth is imminent. Greed begets fear, that fear becomes endless cruelty, and cruelty stirs up anger. Just as hot energy and cold energy collide to form a huge storm, collisions of human greed have shaped a maelstrom of anger, fear, and cruelty within the collective consciousness of the human race. It is a storm of death made by humans that could bring about the end of humankind.

However, inside of this storm, there is something that shines brilliantly. If you look with the eyes of the observer, you can see it—the possibility of a new birth, a great hope.

Both death and birth are an ever-present part of reality, and a choice. The right and responsibility to choose lies not with God, nor any saint, but solely inside of us. Within you is a great soul and divinity that wields this power of choice. If you exist in this age, in this time and space as a human life form, wherever you may be, whether you be male or female, whatever your years and whatever your position, you must choose by taking on the perspective of that great soul and divinity.

As a human being, you have the capacity to experience emotions that are both wretched and noble. The greatest gift of your humanity is that you have the power to rise above your victim mentality, your fear, and your arrogance to make a choice. Choosing your noble intentions becomes effortless when you bring your awareness to the zero-point, the place of neutrality, and think, speak, and act within the natural perspective of the zero point, which I call the creative observer, or your divinity.

From the zero point you have access to all of the wondrous and inherent faculties of your brain, and will experience the eternally unchanging divine value, which is your true nature, as the consciousness behind the controls. Your perception of the world will change. You will see the world with divine eyes, hear with divine ears, and perceive with divine senses. A beautiful world will be revealed before your eyes as you witness the great and holy divinity and soul in the hearts of all people. You will stand before the absolute truth that all human beings are one, their value is limitless, and all are equal. Your soul will tremble in ecstasy in the recognition of this truth, and you will have the strength and absolute conviction to put aside your fears and worries and act for the good of all.

Saving the world is a big job, but if we each do our part, the job isn’t as difficult. Change can happen in an instant. Choose and act right away, at this very moment. Small thoughts and small actions could build huge, great things or create great change. Sing of a new beginning from your soul. Choose new hope.

Throughout all of time, countless humans have come and gone from this earth. Living on the earth at this pivotal time presents a great opportunity for your soul to become one of the greatest, most sacred, and most beautiful human beings to be born. Crisis is great opportunity—being blasted by a storm forces us to turn to the peaceful divinity within. Be the first in your community to spark a collective wave of divine humans. Start a new culture of divinely inspired living. Choose to generate hope, share happiness, and bring peace to all people that you encounter. I wish with all my heart that you can experience being a great and beautiful human being who gives hope to the world. That is the greatest gift that you can give to yourself, and the world.

A common trap of spiritual aspirations is that they provide us grandiose visions of becoming higher beings of grace and authority.

A common trap of spiritual aspirations is that they provide us grandiose visions of becoming higher beings of grace and authority. How many times have you envisioned a future version of yourself as a helper of this world, gleaming in the own light of your goodness? It is a very beautiful picture, correct?

But oftentimes in this type of picture you become the focal point, healing the world in dedication to your own benevolence. We focus so much on our own ascension that we forget what we are doing it for. We move our attention away from the people that we are helping, the earth that we are restoring, and place it on ourselves. You spend so much time grooming and cleansing yourself that the world around you remains dark. You aid others in service to your own ego. While this may produce menial results, in order to really make a difference, in order to completely transform the lives of the people in your presence and the earth that you walk upon: you must become a cleaning cloth.

Beautiful Service

To the outside world, a cleaning cloth is not grand. If you imagine it, a cleaning cloth that has actually cleaned something does not remain crisp, white, and untarnished. The beauty of a cleaning cloth is that it wipes away the tears of pain. It moves to wipe the dirt off of a child’s face. It removes all tarnish so that the object of its attention becomes much brighter than itself. Becoming a cleaning cloth is the most beautiful service to humanity and to the earth. A cleaning cloth may not have much status in this world of competition, where everything tries to out shine the last thing. But the value of a cleaning cloth is precisely that it leaves everything in its wake brilliant and dazzling!

A person that chooses to become a cleaning cloth is a person with a great soul. As you keep choosing, recommitting yourself every day to be a cleaning cloth, you cannot expect everything to change completely in a day or two. But if you keep it up, before the end of the year the people around you will be looking at you differently. More importantly, when you look around you will see that everything and everyone that you have touched shimmers with the brilliance of your love and attention. This is truly an overwhelming experience of joy. Even if your body gets a little tired, your mind will become as bright and radiant as all that you have cleaned and restored.

True Greatness

When you experience that kind of joy, with that kind of bright spirit, what do you think will happen to your body? Your body will also become bright and magnificent, expressing itself in the world at a higher vibration of radiance. People think that if the body is first treated well and uplifted and becomes brighter and higher, the mind will also change, but it doesn’t work that way.

The birth of a new world, the restoration of yourself, your community, and humanity aren’t going to happen if everybody is trying to become brighter and higher themselves first, or to be celebrated and lifted up, or rarer and more precious. Those are methods used by the world. They think if that happens, even the soul will become higher and brighter. That’s not true.

Don’t be afraid of becoming a cleaning cloth for your own health, happiness, and peace. For if you wash a cleaning cloth, it becomes clean. And because you are the one who made yourself a cleaning cloth, and have practiced cleaning time and again, you will also be able to make the cleaning cloth clean.

The stage to use your cleaning cloth isn’t limited. Leave your workplace brighter, your home, your family, everything and every person that you come into contact with. That’s exactly how to become a good person, and that’s a person who makes a better world.

Without knowing the answer to the question, “Who am I?”, how can you really know anything else? In the absence of an answer, life becomes a meaningless sequence of events and is often clouded by anxiety and worry, anguish and delusion.

Who am I? It’s such a basic question. Yet how often to do you think about it? In my youth, I was obsessed with this question until I discovered the answer. Since then I have been raising awareness in others so that they might also find an answer. Without knowing the answer to the question, “Who am I?”, how can you really know anything else? In the absence of an answer, life becomes a meaningless sequence of events and is often clouded by anxiety and worry, anguish and delusion.

On the other hand, knowing who you are is like taking off tinted glasses. Everything becomes clear; you see things as they truly are without emotion or judgment. There is great freedom and peace in that clarity and from it is revealed true purpose. Knowing who you are means you also know why you are alive and what you want to accomplish with the gift of your life.

Two very effective ways to take off your colored glasses are breathing and meditation. These two intertwined activities place you in the present moment, in which your awareness is heightened and expanded. Instead of being focused on the events around you and your thoughts and feelings about them, consciously breathing and meditating allow you to simply be and be aware of that being. You don’t need to refer to a textbook or ask other people about that being because it simply is. You just need to be aware of it by relaxing your mind into yourself.

As you do so, the information that defines your life—your name, your occupation, your history—falls away. Anything that is not permanent, that is not the real you, can fall away. But the real you cannot leave. You don’t need to worry about letting “everything” go because you will always be there. You are self-existent consciousness; you have always existed, and you will always exist. The only thing you are letting go of are your illusions: the many stories and manifestations we use to express ourselves, to live and learn. Beyond them is nothing; there is zero. Zero and nothing are not emptiness. Rather they are fundamental existence and life’s creative force. In fact, they are even beyond existence and non-existence, being and non-being. All life comes from zero.

When you’ve subtracted everything until you’re left with zero, you reach a neutral state: the real you. This “I” beyond the “I” of all of the information that makes up your ego is an observer that watches the rest of creation with clear eyes. From within a neutral state, the experience of zero is one of stability and joy, as well as fundamental bliss and fundamental love.

At the core, you are zero. But your value is not zero. It is infinite. Your value cannot change regardless of your appearance, your actions, or other’s opinions. You are a precious being who is the very essence of life itself.

People are influenced a lot by their environment. Have you noticed that many people who live in the same region have a similar texture to their energy? And that texture typically resonates with the texture of the land.

People from mountainous regions tend to be independent and strong, just like the mountains they live near. Those who live in the desert are bright and simple, much like the natural conditions of the open expanse of desert land. And those who live near the ocean flow with a sense of ease that the unencumbered and vast waters communicate. Each landscape on the earth is a gift expressing the different aspects of our mother earth’s personality, and depending on where we stand we receive the articulation of her love specific to that region.

If you are mindful of the characteristics of the land that you live on, and you are open to receive the gifts specific to that land, you can harness this energy and use it to grow those characteristics within yourself. If you feel drawn to move to another region, it may be because you seek to develop that characteristic within yourself, knowing intuitively that you can use the momentum of the environment to move you in the direction that you want to grow.

By taking time to connect with the resonant energy of the land that you live on, you can find endless inspiration. As you are walking, sitting, or meditating, quietly introduce yourself and ask the land if it will allow you to feel its essence. Create a moment of open space to receive without expectation. Creating that still space is important, if you have expectations or try pull from the land what you need, you can interrupt the flow of energy. The earth is constantly communicating with you, but her voice is soft. You must listen carefully. If you open your heart to the gifts of the earth, she will teach you how to love with the might of the mountain and the softness of the breeze. She will imbue you with the power to leave a trail of flowers in the hearts of those that you meet.

One of the value systems that contributes to overeating comes from a fundamental belief that has been passed down for many generations. This belief tells us that an abundance of food is security, and an overabundance of food is wealth—to be eaten with celebratory zest!

Consider for a moment that the compulsion to reach for that second serving stems from this survival reflex. Because of the great fortune many people in these modern times experience, there is an abundant surplus of rich foods to satisfy every impulse for fulfillment that our brain sends us.

The counterintuitive reality is that this impulse can be dangerous. The long term effects of overeating results in obesity, which is a major risk factor for many illnesses and diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. But even more fundamentally, what you eat affects your mental health, not only on a chemical level but on an emotional level as well. Everything is connected to eating. As some say, we are what we eat.

We have all heard this information before, yet portion sizes keep increasing with our wealth, and poor choices are made as our schedule fills up. The primary reason that people are not able to put into practice what they already know is because the brain is not being managed properly.

The “More Is Better” Mentality

But it’s not just our desire for food that moves us to consume. Much of our time and resources are devoted to accumulating all sorts of things; clothing, cars, electronics, entertainment, etc. For instance, if you are like most people you probably own enough clothing to get through the winter. Even if you don’t purchase a single article of clothing for the next five years, you probably have enough to comfortably sustain your needs. However, as the season changes, you suddenly feel the impulse to purchase new clothes.

Your brain is constantly barraged with different images through broadcasts, commercials, and media that triggers the desire to buy. There are tremendous promotions and advertising campaigns created to stir the desire to buy new things within your brain. That is what I call information infiltration.

Through this infiltration of culture and information we keep reaching into our pockets, adding more debt onto our credit cards, and accumulating more possessions. But is this necessary? Do we really need that extra pair of black shoes, or yet another handbag?

Delving Deeper

If you are ready for an alternative to consuming more food, distracting yourself with more entertainment, and accumulating more possessions, you must allow yourself to reflect upon what you are actually missing, and I can guarantee that it is not more “stuff.” Once you have connected at the basic level of this desire for more, you may find that what you really seek is a feeling of centeredness and security.

You can reconnect to your center by placing your hands on your lower abdomen and focusing your breath all the way down to your lower belly for three to five minutes a day. Keep bringing your attention to the movement of your hands as the breath moves your abdomen in and out. This practice will create the adequate breathing space that will keep you from getting caught up in the external whirlwind that tips us off balance, causing us to reach outside for support and security.

From this point of centeredness you will find it easier to control your appetite and other desires that you experience. When the brain is not focusing, it can get stuck in obsessive behaviors in no time. That is why it is essential to keep bringing your focus back to your core. Once you connect to the intelligence of your body, all of the outdated information in your brain will regulate itself. You will be able to achieve a healthy relationship with the abundance that surrounds so many of us today, using it as a resource to improve the conditions for the people living on the earth and not as a mere tool to distract yourself. Living this way, you will feel a deep satisfaction, fulfilled by the richness of your own spirit, and able to share that abundant spirit with others. What matters more than what you have, is how you use it.

There needs to be a shift from the often stressful education system focused on academic competition to a system of education that respects the minds of the youth, an updated model that I refer to as a human-centered education.

Whether you study in South Korea or the United States, competition to get into a college, especially one that is considered a “good” college, is stiff. Having a college degree, with some exception, makes a significant difference in whether you will be able to have a job or career that will adequately support you and your family. However, in this scramble to succeed and survive, humanistic values are often lost. We forget to value each person and their contribution to society. The cost to our mental and overall health has become a burden society does not need to bear. I believe that there needs to be a shift from the often stressful education system focused on academic competition to a system of education that respects the minds of the youth, an updated model that I refer to as a human-centered education.

The Netherlands stands out as a shining example of human-centered education. Said to be a public education paradise, this small country with a population of just 16 million stands out as an economic superpower and the best welfare state. In the Netherlands, students select their path in 6th grade, prior to starting middle school. They can choose from three different types of secondary schools, each offering training and support for different ranges of careers. Educators, parents, and students make the decision together based on a student’s record of academic achievement and secondary school entrance examination results.

Middle schools and high schools in the Netherlands are sorted into three categories:
1. The first category is a secondary school program consisting of a six-year course in humanities. After graduation the students are qualified for admission to a WO, (wetenschappelijk onderwijs) literally translated as “scientific education,” taught at research universities.
2. In the second category, students can go through a five-year course at an upper level general school of secondary education. After graduation students may be admitted to HBO, (Hoger beroepsonderwijs) translated as “higher professional education,” offered in the areas of economics, technology, health, personal care, social welfare, and agriculture.
3. Finally, the third category consists of a four-year course for middle-level applied education geared for vocational training. After graduation students can attend MBO (middelbaar beroepsonderwijs) translated as “middle-level applied education,” also commonly referred to as vocational college.

For example, Coach Hiddink, who completed the (second category) upper-level general secondary school, was admitted to a specialized education institute for sports leaders when his talent for soccer was discovered. He attained his certification as a soccer coach, and continues his flourishing activities today. Although Hiddink did not graduate from a (first category) humanities college, he is proficient not only in English, but German, French, Spanish, and Italian.

Children in the Netherlands don’t stake their lives on college, nor are they tormented with private education. Not every child has a superior academic ability that will lead to an acclaimed occupation that yields a high-income career. The educational system in the Netherlands takes this into account and sets a career path that fits the individual’s natural talents from an early age, taking into consideration what that child would be most interested in learning when they reach 14 to 15 years of age based upon their innate capabilities. After graduating from secondary school the student is qualified to enter into the field that they are interested in, or in cases where they need to, move on to college.

The Netherlands has established a good model of a workable, human-centered educational system. Such a system recognizes that, for human beings, work is important. Through work, people express themselves and manifest their value, and are respected for it. That’s why the value of occupations has to be democratized. This is what I call “job democracy.” What we need now is the actualization of a job democracy where all work, all occupations are respected by society based on a political democracy where political authorities are respected as citizens, and an economic democracy where laborers are also respected, and small and mid-sized businesses are respected as well. For example, in addition to finding education for every type of job that is relatively free of stigma, in the Netherlands you also find that the wage disparity between people of differing academic achievement is relatively small.

In order to create a job democracy, the value of work and occupation has to be newly established; there needs to be improvement of primary, secondary, and higher education systems; and the wage-disparity between differing levels of academic achievement must be reduced. At the same time, there has to be a change in the overall societal perceptions regarding professions. The Netherlands’ education and economic system may not be perfect. But it gives us some great insights on how to build an education system that supports each student to choose a profession that they enjoy and have a natural ability for.
