Ilchi Lee was honored by a proclamation issued by 11 major cities in US, such as Cambridge, MA, Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO, Gaithersburg, DC. The official proclamations were issued in order to recognize the contributions of Ilchi Lee to US and the world.
World-renowned scholars, thinkers and social activists gathered together in Seoul, Korea on June 15, 2001, to attend the New Millennium World Peace Humanity Conference. The conference was presented by the New Millennium Peace Foundation (NMPF), which is a non-governmental, independent organization founded by Ilchi Lee and Neale Donald Walsch in 1997.
For the first time in history, religious and spiritual leaders of the world's diverse faith traditions came together in New York from August 28th to August 31st, 2000, to discuss how to forge a partnership of peace with the United Nations. More than 1,000 spiritual leaders participated at this Summit.
Ilchi Lee participated at the Summit as one of 50 preeminent leaders in the world. His opening prayer presented a vision of peace that transcends religious, racial, and national boundaries.
