Week 3 : Build Momentum (Mar 17) Print E-mail

Week 3 continues with an exercise in brain sensitizing and introduces you to brain versatilizing, the process of creating new neural connections in the brain. Brain versatilizing is designed to help you develop the plasticity and vibrancy of a high-demand brain faster. The goal of this process is challenging your brain to master new tasks and to become more supple and flexible—freeing your mind from rigid habits.

Your daily workout should be 40 minutes and include the following exercises:
- Jangsaeng Walking (30 minutes)
- Bounce ‘n’ Sweep (10 to 20 repetitions)
- Shoulder Rotations (6 forward rotations, 6 reverse rotations)
- Reach-Ups (Three repetitions for each side of the body)
- Triangle Circle
- Triumphant Tree

Reach-Ups (Balances both sides of your body and your brain)
1. Place your left foot forward and your left palm on your left thigh.
2. Inhale, and with your right hand reach behind your head, palm facing the ceiling. Let your head drop back as you follow the movement of the hand with your eyes.
3. Exhale, and slowly return to the original position.
4. Repeat three times, then repeat on the opposite side of the body.

Triangle Circle
1. In the air, draw a circle with your left hand and draw a triangle with your right. Keep drawing the shapes continuously with both hands at the same time.
2. Next, switch hands—draw a triangle with your left hand and draw a reverse triangle with your right.
3. Alternate hands and repeat the above.

Triumphant Tree (Helps you find your center of gravity and keep balance)
1. Stand with your feet together and your palms in the “prayer position.”
2. Slowly bring one foot up, placing the sole of your foot as high as you can on the inner thigh. Push your knee out to the side. (If this is difficult at first, place the foot lower on the leg.)
