UN Peace SummitThe Millennium World Peace Summit at the UN
For the first time in history, religious and spiritual leaders of the world's diverse faith traditions came together in New York from August 28th to August 31st, 2000, to discuss how to forge a partnership of peace with the United Nations. More than 1,000 spiritual leaders participated at this Summit. The goal of the Peace Summit was to identify ways that the worldwide religious and spiritual communities can work together as interfaith allies with the United Nations on specific peace, poverty and environmental initiatives. Ilchi Lee participated at the Summit as one of 50 preeminent leaders in the world. His opening prayer presented a vision of peace that transcends religious, racial, and national boundaries.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness that the brain is the key to recovery of humanity. The only brain Olympiad in the world, the IHSPO was first held in Korea in 2005, with 30,000 participants from three countries participating. In 2006 the second IHSPO attracted 50,000 participants from six countries. The IHSPO has received sponsorship from the Korea Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO); the Ministries of Science and Technology, and Education and Human Resources Development of the Korean government; and the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation. The 3rd International Brain HSP Olympiad and Brain Education Conference was held for the first time on American soil, at Ellenville, NY, after two successful annual events in Seoul, Korea. The event attracted 700 of the brightest brains from around the world who gathered to learn about the importance of brain development or to compete in a variety of events related to brain ability. The event was co-hosted by Ilchi Lee, founder of Brain Education, and Oscar Arias Sanchez, the President of Costa Rica, both of whom believe that making a better world begins with building better brains. Many other world-class brain scientists and educators delivered lectures and brain-training workshops during the Olympiad. Brain Declaration I declare that I am the master of my brain. Ilchi Lee believes that by focusing on the brain as the unlimited basis for consciousness and behavior, humanity can create a productive, peaceful and sustainable global culture. Brain Declaration contains the essential premises of Ilchi Lee’s brain philosophy. Earth Human MovementThe Earth Human Movement
Ilchi Lee believes that one essential change must occur in human consciousness if we are to find a peaceful, sustainable existence on this planet. Rather than continuing to define ourselves according to racial, cultural, religious, and political labels, we must simply identify ourselves as “Earth Humans.” All other identities divide humans from one another, but the Earth Human identity transcends all political and cultural barriers, and thus allows the possibility of genuine peace and unity. All people are dependent upon the Earth to provide sustenance, and all people share the Earth as their true home. Furthermore, the Earth Human identity leads naturally to an acknowledgement of human dependence on Earth and the need to manage her resources responsibly. |
