B Baek-hoe An acupressure point located at the top of the head.
Bowing An meditative bending and kneeling exercise similar to Hatha yoga’s sun salutation.
C Chakra A Sanskrit word meaning a wheel or circle, referring to any of the seven internal energy centers in the body. Chun-bu-kyung An ancient Korean scripture known as The Heavenly Code. It explains the trinity of Heaven, Earth, and Human, and is meant as a guide for living well.
Chun-ji-ki-woon Cosmic energy or the highest level of energy.
Chun-ji-ma-eum Cosmic mind or enlightened consciousness.
D Dahn-jon An energy center in the body where energy (Ki) is accumulated. There are three of these areas, but the word most often refers to the lower Dahn-jon located below the bellybutton.
Dahn-mu A form of dancing that follows the natural flow of energy.
DahnMuDo A Korean non-combative, healing martial art based on Dahn principles.
Dahn Yoga An holistic health and mind-body training program that combines deep stretching exercises, meditative breathing techniques, and energy awareness training.
Dahn A Korean word which means energy, vitality, and origin of life.
Dahnhak The original name of Dahn Yoga. It literally means “the study of life energy.”
J Jang-shim An acupressure point located at the center of the palm on each hand. Ji-gam A meditative exercise to introduce the awareness of energy. Jung-Choong Breathing A training technique that combines sequential movements with focused breathing. This practice facilitates energy accumulation and proper energy circulation. K Ki The vital energy which circulates throughout the universe, the essence of every creation in the cosmos. M Meridian In Oriental Medicine, a pathway through which energy moves in the body.
Myung-hyun A healing phenomena that occurs as the body struggles to regain balance. It literally means “alternating brightness and darkness” and may include uncomfortable symptoms, such as dizziness, body aches, coughing, stuffy nose, etc.
S Su-seung-hwa-gang One of the three main principles of Dahn Yoga, meaning “water energy up, fire energy down.” W Water Up, Fire Down See Su-seung-hwa-gang. Y Yong-chun An acupressure point located on the sole of each foot. It is approximately in the center of the foot, and just below the ball.
