Ilchi Lee visited the Office of Education of Busan, South Korea on March 10th, 2008. This second stop on his lecture tour included a personal meeting with the superintendent, Dong-geun Seol, as well as a lecture in the Office’s packed 450-seat lecture hall.

In this “Special Lecture on Brain Education,” Lee, an honorary citizen of Busan, called for a revolution in the South Korean education system. Beginning with Busan, Lee said, incorporating Brain Education into the education system would infuse it with humanistic values. Lee described how people needed to realize their existential value, and how they could benefit others. Doing so would enhance the functioning of their brain and the decisions they made, resulting in a better society. He explained how Brain Education and Brain Wave Vibration also help people manage their emotions and, on a biological level, their hormones. They create a positive affect and balanced outlook on life. Overall they were presented as essential tools for creating a happy, healthy, and peaceful world.

While this lecture was similar to the Brain Education lecture that Ilchi Lee gave to Seoul educators the week before, his meeting with Superintendent Seol prior to the lecture made this visit to Busan different. Together they formed a mutually beneficial agreement to bring Brain Education and Brain Wave Vibration to Busan schools.

As part of this agreement, Ilchi Lee donated 450 Brain Wave Vibration books to the Busan Office of Education, one for each school in the region. Lee also agreed to give future lectures in Busan to principals and PTA members. To study the current situation and discover how best to utilize Brain Education, in April the superintendent will create a Happy School Working Group within the Office of Education. This group and the superintendent will experience Brain Education for themselves at 8 a.m. every weekday morning. To support them, the University of Brain Education in Korea and the Kookhakwon cultural education center agreed to actively facilitate the introduction of Brain Education in Busan.

As evidence of their ongoing relationship, Superintendent Seol accepted Ilchi Lee’s invitation to participate in the inaugural ceremony of the International Brain Education Association (IBREA) at the United Nations in New York City on June 20th. After learning about Brain Education through this visit, he expressed his enthusiasm for actively supporting the spread of Brain Education in Busan.
