Ilchi Lee was interviewed by the Herald Economy, one of South Korea's leading business newspapers, for the article entitled "Everyone Can Wake Up Their Sleeping Brain," published November 2, 2007. Also interviewed was Suk-jin Kang, president of CEO Consulting Group and the former chairperson of GE Korea. Here are excerpts of Ilchi Lee's words:

Brain Focus

The future of individuals, countries and humanity will depend on how to utilize the human brain's potential. This is why many developed countries have jumped into brain research, while they previously regarded the brain as only an object of medical science or anatomy.

Historically, the center of human life was always considered to be the heart. People in the past did not know much about the brain. All human beings want health, happiness and peace; however, solutions cannot be easily found in current philosophy and methods. Many developed countries are researching the brain, thinking that the key to human health, happiness and peace is in the brain.

So far, my research efforts have been on is how to utilize the brain. Once we know how to utilize it, we can imagine and create much better. With the Korea Institute of Brain Science and University of Brain Education (South Korea), I have been doing research. KIBS has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

Every technical product has its instructional manual. If we had a manual for our brain, we could utilize it very well for the purposes of health and happiness. We have BOS (Brain Operating System) in our brain similar to a computer's OS (Operating System). To operate the OS, we should change our brain waves to more positive vibrations. If we change our brain waves, we can heal our body with maximum natural healing power, and create a peaceful state by controlling our emotions.

Brain Science

The brain has an infinite potential, but it has not been demonstrated fully because we don't know how to use the brain. I have hosted Internatioinal Brain HSP Olympiad three times since 2005. This year, the event took place in Ellenville, New York. Thousands of people from many countries participate in this annual event. Many of them use their brains in ways that show they have heightened sensory perception (HSP).

At first many people were skeptical about this, but most of them now accept it as a fact. In addition, cancer patients and MS patients have healed themselves utilizing Brain Wave Vibration training. The fact that I gave lectures at MIT and Harvard, founded a University approved by the Korean Munistry of Education, and founded a brain research institute accepted as a United Nations NGO supports that these phenomena are worthy. I am conducting research on how to use the brain to use HSP. I believe that it is science's role to verify and confirm this phenomenon.

About Education

Education is in crisis worldwide. Korean education focuses on satisfying the top 5% of good students. I am planning to launch the Happy School Project, and support it with a personal donation of $1 million over 10 years. One of its programs will be physical practice. Many students are suffering from glycosuria and obesity, because of very small playgrounds. For these students, I am planning to teach the HSP 12-step Program, which is one of the Brain Education programs.

To pass the first step, students should do 50 push-ups. The 12-step Program advances to 50 steps of handstand walking. Awards will be given each time they pass a step, going to most students at least twice a year. Through these steps, students will become more confident, and have a more positive personality. Students have to help each other for this process, which will also address the school violence issue. This program can be applied worldwide.

Business and Management

In South Korea, a company called U-DAP (a pun on the Answer Is Within You) teaches a form of Brain Education to corporations. So far 460,000 people have been trained, from 1,000 organizations, such as Samsung, Hyundai, POSCO, and Ministry of National Defense. Brain Education will help global corporations resolve critical issues involving the individual and organization, innovation and growth, and possession and sharing. Brain Management is a new paradigm that can be applied to self management, corporate management, country management, and earth management.

Earth Management

The Earth is suffering from global warming and excessive pollution, and we cannot let it go on. We need the mindset of managing the Earth, just like we manage our family, a company or a nation. The staring point is the company and businessperson. Corporate managers should manage from the perspective of Earth Management. If a businessperson has a dream to be a great businessperson, he or she can contribute to peace on the Earth.
