A great many people in and around Sedona are above 50 years old, and most of them are interested and active in making the last third of their lives truly healthy, happy and fulfilling. To share his experience in how to bring this about, Ilchi Lee will speak on “Brain Education for Successful Aging After 50,” at the Sedona Public Library, February 17, 2:00-4:00 pm.
Ilchi Lee giving a lecture on Brain Education
Lee’s lecture will be the official launch his new book “In Full Bloom: A Brain Education Guide for Successful Aging,” coauthored with Dr. Jesse Jones. A 10-year Sedona resident, Lee will share valuable secrets for making the most of one’s brain in the later third of your life.
Lee asserts that we can have a young brain in an old body, which would enable us to feel and act younger, and therefore regain and retain a healthier body and mind. The reality about the aging brain is simple but extraordinary: we can have a fit brain at age 50, 60, 70, 80 and beyond. It is a matter of choice and habit.
In his presentation, Lee will counter the myths that surround the aging of the brain, encouraging older adults to take an active role in keeping their brains in top condition for life. Based on the five-step Brain Education method and the latest findings in neuroscience, it is a guide to getting the most out of life in the last third of life by using the brain to its maximum potential.
The topics Lee will cover in his lecture include: The challenges of your brain in your later years; simple yet powerful techniques to keep your brain in its top condition; how to enhance the quality of your life through the brain; and how to develop a truly dynamic mature identity.
During the program, Lee will demonstrate and invite the audience to do a series of simple exercises for the body and mind that help people keep their brains open, flexible and growing.
Lee is committed to enhancing human potential through a variety of mind-body training methods, and especially the nurturance and development of the human brain. He is the creator of Brain Education System Training (BEST), president of the Korean Institute of Brain Science, president of the International Brain Education Association, and founder of Sedona Ilchi Meditation Center (on Bill Gray Road). He has written 30 books, 12 of which have appeared in English.
Lee will be signing the first run of copies of the “In Full Bloom” book available to the public.
The lecture will be at the Sedona Public Library, 3250 White Bear Road, Sedona, AZ 86336 (928-282-7714), February 17 (Sunday), 2:00-4:00 pm. While admission is free, because of the 100-seat capacity of the Library, it is necessary to reserve a seat by calling 928-282-3600.
