Korea Institute of Brain Science hosted a reception for globalization of Brain Education
Around 50 leaders attended from South Korea's educational, medical, and scientific circles. Among them were Hogun Park, former Minister of Science and Technology, and Chanho Park, former president of Pohang University.
It is believed that ECOSOC granted KIBS the NGO consultative status because it acknowledged that KIBS's research, under Ilchi Lee's leadership, has generated important results for understanding brain development and application, and has indicated implications for delivering Brain Education worldwide. Ilchi Lee has taken an active leadership role in using Brain Education to resolve global problems, through developing Human Technology to enhance the quality of human life.
With its official Roster Consultative Status, KIBS is eligible to attend meetings of ECOSOC and its various agencies, engage with other NGOs in UN-sponsored projects and events, and use the facilities of the UN for KIBS-sponsored events to promote Brain Education. KIBS was one of 89 NGOs to be approved by ECOSOC on July 20, bringing the total NGOs with Contultative Status to 2,856, of which 970 have Roster Consultative Status.
KIBS will take a proactive role to highlight the value and information of Brain Education by hosting the annual International Brain Symposium, and a brain magazine.
