A tour of places in South Korea special to Ilchi Lee and traditional Korean culture will be given in October 2008, coinciding with the International Earth Human Festival and the 2nd International Ki Gong Festival.

Three tour options are available, with the shortest excluding the festivals. The other two tours are two days longer, extending from September 26th to October 6th. All tour participants will visit Moak Mountain, the place where Ilchi Lee meditated for twenty-one days to reach his enlightenment; the Institute of Korean Traditional Cultural Studies (“Kookhakwon” in Korean) where they can learn about Korea’s ancient roots; and Chunhwawon, the first meditation center Ilchi Lee founded. These locations are steeped in both Korean cultural history and Dahn history. For over ten years, programs there have taught the same fundamental principles that Ilchi Lee has been teaching across the world. Through visiting these areas, tour participants will have an opportunity to see the roots of Dahn practice. They will also receive mind-body training to help them gain a deeper understanding of themselves.

Besides these major sites, tour participants will experience Jun Ju Town, a Korean folk town, Huk Suk San (Black Star Mountain), and In-Sa-Dong, Seoul’s traditional shopping street. One tour option also includes a visit to Jeju Island, a unique island without crime known as the Island of Peace.

Fourteen Americans attended a similar tour from April 26 to May 2, 2008. In addition to visiting the same places as the October tours, they spent one night with the family of a Korean Dahn member for a more personal cultural experience. The participants not only received daily Dahn Yoga training, but also received special training from Ilchi Lee one day at Moak Mountain, in addition to training from Byuk Woon, one of his earliest students.

The tours are sponsored by the Korea National Tourism Organization and run by Sedona Ki Meditation Tours, the same company that runs meditation tours in Sedona, Arizona.
