Two new Dahn Yoga Centers opened in the United States in 2008. The Northbrook Center in Northbrook, Illinois and the Montecito Center in Montecito, Nevada (Las Vegas area) have been open for about six months, however they are just starting to officially announce their presence to the community.
The Northbrook Center (1947 Cherry Ln., Northbrook, IL 60062), run by Sun-ah Jung and Jeong Hee Jeon, is located in a shopping plaza in downtown Northbrook near the train station where many Northbrook inhabitants commute to Chicago. Although many Northbrook residents work in Chicago, there are also many large corporations situated in Northbrook including Kraft Foods, Inc. Northbrook is a prosperous area with a strong community focus and many good schools. To support the town, the Northbrook Center offers children’s classes in addition to their adult yoga and Dahn Tai Chi classes.

Durango Dr., Suite 240, Las Vegas, NV 89146), managed by Kyoung Ock Yung (who goes by the name of Danielle), held a grand opening event on Earth Day this year (April 22, 2008). The event was attended by Mayor of Las Vegas Oscar Goodman, Dahn Yoga Regional Manager of Nevada Je Chon Yang (known as Gio), Dahn Instructor Michelle, several local Dahn Yoga Healers, and many current members. The event featured an open Dahn Yoga class, short speeches by Mayor Goodman and Danielle, and a ribbon cutting by the mayor with cake and refreshments. Gio demonstrated Dahn energy dancing and a graduate of DahnMuDo School demonstrated one of the forms in DahnMuDo martial arts.
Mayor Oscar Goodman experienced and enjoyed Dahn Yoga exercises (Dahn means “life energy” in Korean) and congratulated the center for the grand opening celebration. He said he could feel the power and energy through the exercises and loved the artistic demonstrations. In appreciation for his support, Mayor Goodman was presented with a gift of two Brain Education books: Power Brain Kids and In Full Bloom: A Brain Education Guide for Successful Aging.
