Work is the Easiest Meditation
You can find great peace and stability of mind through meditation. When you think of meditation, you might think of somebody sitting in the half-lotus posture. But sitting meditation is not easy to do well. It is uncomfortable and few people can focus properly in that position without a lot of training and practice. Initially you may feel relaxed, but if you can’t concentrate well, you may become sleepy, which is not the same as meditating.
Real meditation moves your mind forward in tranquility to a bright and clear state. It takes physical and mental effort--and a lot of practice. It is hard to meditate sitting still, concentrating deeply without any distraction. But when you become completely absorbed in something, something you really love to do, you become so absorbed that you are not even aware you are doing anything.
In this state, time passes quickly and you become lost in your work. This is one of the best forms of meditation because it is both easy and productive! When you are devoted to the work that you choose to do, your whole life becomes a beautiful, peaceful meditation.
