Who has hope?
How do we rekindle the natural
  hopes and dreams of humanity?
      Through inspiration…
    Through kindness…
Through the moments
            that make up every day.
With hope, anything is possible.

How to Train the Emotions Print E-mail

The emotions are like clouds. They form and then disperse, depending on how the wind is blowing. That's why emotions can grant or restrict freedom in your consciousness.

We must clearly tell our emotions and bodies who their masters are. Our emotions cannot interfere when we smile. But when our smiling or laughter is over, emotions develop again. And so we have to go around dragging our emotions with us.

We must cause our own emotions to arise rather than being led around by them. Only then will we be masters of our emotions. If I don't realize that I am the master, then my emotions misunderstand, thinking they are the masters.

We can always make and create our emotions. Absolutely do not let your emotions be your master. You must not permit this. My emotions belong to me.

When your emotions appear before you, say, "I am the master, not you." Then you will immediately become the master of your emotions.

Having long trained our emotions in the wrong way, we've allowed them to take over, pretending to be the masters themselves. When this happens, your emotions make you laugh and make you cry. You've spent a lot of time laughing and crying in response to your emotions. No longer let yourself be the slave of your environment.

I want you to always give life to yourself. The various kinds of information that I have are not me, but mine. Life starts to change when you realize this. Your life will start to change the instant you understand.

Thank you for this reminder. I have used the phrase "my emotions are not me, but mine" many times in the past. I understand that I must continue to choose my information if I truly want to create change in my life. AND I DO WANT TO CHANGE! So I will choose positive mind and manage my emotions better.

This concept is confusing to me because I have found that sometimes I need to release my emotions via crying or shouting and such then the specific emotion is gone. If I never give it voice then it stays buried in me. How do you explain the need to grieve and cry when a loved one dies?
It makes sense to me not to give POWER to my emotions to control me or run me but sometimes they do require my attention inorder to release them.

For sure I agree that we shouldn't repress the emotions, but I can see we should recognize them, and then we can make a distance from then. We still feel them, but the I that feels it, is the watching I, not just the physical I. Aye Yiy Yay! Too many I's smilies/shocked.gif

I'm amazed as to what a smile can do. Giving in to a negative emotion can make us feel like we're in a dark cocoon. The smile invites light in, changing us into a beautiful butterfly. It's so basic and powerful at the same time.

I like the sentence: "Our emotions cannot interfere when we smile." Smiling is something physical that I can do. It's a handy tool to break the downward spiral of thoughts followed by emotions followed by more thoughts and even more emotions.

It is not always easy to be the master of my emotions. Preconceptions often get in my way....but I have learned to face them, accept them, and take action to avoid,or rid of them when I try with 100% effort. One way I do this is to focus on my Dahn Jon.
