What I First Thought Was NOT A Blessing REALLY WAS...

In November 2007, I was simultaneously participating in the first round of 21M and Yong Ki Tong at my local Dahn Center. My goal for BOTH was to create a miracle in my life by "organizing my home to create family harmony." In early December, my mother (who I rented a townhouse from for the past 5 years) came by to tell me that she and my stepfather would be selling the condo, and that I needed to find a new place for myself and my children to live. I actually had until the beginning of January 2008 to move out but misunderstood her and thought that I had until the ending of January.

So for most of January 2008, it was a stressful time for me. I had to find a new place to stay while packing up about 5 years of STUFF. Things were pretty tense between my mother and I, because she needed to get in to renovate the place in preparation for them selling it and I was having a challenge finding a suitable place for my family and I. Finally, approximately a week before the end of the month I found a new home. I give much thanks and appreciation to one of my Dahn sisters, who was kind enough to offer her apartment to rent (deep kahmsamidas to A.D.) IT IS PERFECT, with all the shopping and travel conveniences within a block of our new digs. And, thanks to my son's teacher who is a big time advocate for him, my teenagers are able to continue going to the same high school this year instead of attending the one nearby so that they can be with their friends and teachers that they've bonded with this year!

However, our new home is much smaller than our old one so guess what? I DEFINITELY had to do some downloading, getting rid of STUFF that no longer served it's purpose. We did a lot of purging and getting rid of things. As a matter of fact, we're still doing that even with the things that we brought to the new place. The more my children and I download the things that don't serve us, the better our interrelationships get.

My final comment? This really was a blessing, though I didn't think so at first. Another thing I learned: I have to be VERY CAREFUL for what I ask for. The things that I intend have a consistent habit of happening.

Good health, happiness (smile!) and peace to all of you. - SherryHN

I am not a wimp. I pride myself on that. But I have to admiit that when I'm in the middle of a problem, when there appears to be no end in sight, I can get discouraged. Right now it feels as if the amount of effort I have to put forth to get results from my yoga practice is huge and the results are measured in inches. So the topic of 'counting your blessings' is timely. Thinking about how a past difficulty improved me will be today's meditation. - margaretm

It is great to be awakening all the time, wether that's hard to do it.
Life is blessing because I choose that way but not gloomy or sad
