This poem is a message that came to me during an early morning meditation a few days ago. I saw that conscience is neither visible nor tangible. It is like light and fire. Conscience can neither be made, nor can it be taught. It is part of our fundamental nature.

The ancient sacred Asian text called the Chun Bu Kyung says that conscience exists in the heart and is accessed when mind and heart are connected. When the heart is open and at one with the mind, conscience radiates outward as brightly as the sun. This awakening of conscience is the beginning and end of a new enlightened human civilization.

I am wind
I am a drifting cloud
I am a river
I flow

I am a quiet ocean
Bushels of falling stars
In the space that I feel
All become one

Where time stops
Space has vanished

I cannot feel my arms, my legs, my body,
my eyes, my ears,
my skin, my brain
The past, present, and future have all disappeared.

Heaven Earth Human
Do not exist

Where light and darkness have disappeared
There I am
Where even the numbers that say I am alone or with another have disappeared
There I am

I am not me

What!
I am something
I am something unknowable
I am something I have never felt before

One Day One Night
Someday, that day will come to each of us

That something
That is neither death nor life

I offer you this poem, which was written very much like a river flows.

Before I wrote the poem, I went to a place of complete serenity and peace in deep meditation. People call that state a state of enlightenment, the pinnacle of Zen Buddhist meditation. From this place, I wrote the poem.

Regardless of who you are, we all dwell within a consciousness that’s awake during the day, and within a consciousness of dreams at night. Humans go back and forth between various levels of consciousness.

Enlightenment is a state of consciousness in which you leave the confines of the body and become completely one with divinity. God is in the brain. Since everyone has a brain, anyone who wants to can experience becoming one with God in their brain.

The fact that we are able to experience this awareness through meditation and prayer, a special privilege enjoyed by humans, is an incredible blessing. I want to share with you the hope that anyone who wants to can reach enlightenment.

In that state, you will come to realize that the world you currently see, hear, feel, and believe, is not everything. And that’s when the infinite potential of life and beautiful inner light will shine. That is the ultimate vitality.

One Day, One Night. Someday, a new future of humanity will be unveiled through an enlightenment that anyone can experience. That is my dream. That’s exactly when life becomes art.
