Change Documentary Film Premiere

By the Editor

Last Tuesday, April 16, 2013, 243 people gathered at the Sedona Creative Life Center for a red carpet premiere of the documentary film Change: The LifeParticle Effect, for which Ilchi Lee was the inspiration and executive producer. The event was hosted and organized by the Sedona Meditation Center, a non-profit in Sedona, Arizona that teaches the many meditation methods developed by Ilchi Lee. The free, semi-formal event included a catered reception, a photo zone for professional pictures, the film screening, and a talk by Ilchi Lee on personal and planetary change. Producer co-director Eunjin Lim and co-director Edwin Kim were in attendance, with Edwin making a short speech beforehand. Many of the film’s crew and stars also attended.

The event was a mixture of celebration and inspiration. As one attendee, Lorrie Lawrence, expressed, “Being here at this event was a great opportunity to listen to the message Ilchi Lee is giving to the world for us to all help each other and learn how to use our energy and the energy that is all around us to create change in our lives and the world.”

The simplicity of the message of the film and the talk was evident: We are all made of LifeParticles. LifeParticles are consciousness and energy; at the same time, LifeParticles are brought together, moved, and pulled apart by consciousness to form what we wish. We all inherently have the power to foster change if we can clear out thoughts and emotions that inhibit our brain power and put enough energy into what we want through focus and action. When we clear our brains, we reach a point of zero, a state of balance in which we can see reality as it really is and make choices unencumbered by our past baggage. LifeParticle Meditation and meditation with magnets enable us to achieve balance and clarity and send energy for a new reality for ourselves, for society, and for the planet. During the talk, the audience was able to taste this by experiencing their own energy through feeling the energy between two small but strong magnets given to them by Ilchi Lee.

“I really enjoyed the simplicity of the message,” commented emcee Gaetano Frankel, “and how it was delivered with such sincerity, honesty, and clarity where it’s the message of being that zero point where you’re just in balance. Mainly that, I enjoyed that a lot. So that was very inspiring. And how that can inspire change, by that zero balance.”

His wife Erika DeCoronado was “so overjoyed by this concept and belief system that needs to be shared with the whole world because it’s such an important message, so important for all humanity. And I feel it’s going to really spread because we’re coming together in this oneness. It’s just so beautiful. . . . It’s just really magnificent, just to come together, in this room, . . . and share this same belief system. It’s very powerful, and this can spread like a domino effect. So it’s very touching, inspirational.”

Dawn Quaresima, manager of the East Meadow, New York Dahn Yoga Center, couldn’t “wait to share it with [her] members back in New York.” She thought the film took “many of the principles that we’ve been sharing . . . and put them together in such a clear, scientific way. Everybody I think can digest this, understand it, and connect to it.” Overall she thought the event was a “wonderful time spent to connect to yourself and reflect on where you are in your life and what you want to change. And being able to be here with Ilchi Lee is so spectacular and precious, to hear where he came from and how this all came about; it’s truly inspiring and it makes each of us feel anything is possible if we choose it.”

The film premiere was the first of a national tour hosted by Dahn Yoga & Health, Inc. and Body + Brain Holistic Yoga that will go on from May to July this year. The tour is part of a larger Change Project, which also includes two companion books and a website. Change: The LifeParticle Effect will be available on DVD and Blu-ray in May 2013.

The scope and purpose of the Change Project will evolve as new people and ideas are added to the mix. While many offer solutions to make change easier and better, an understanding of the role energy plays in the process of change distinguishes this project from other endeavors. Many people become frustrated because they cannot bridge the gap between their thoughts and their experiences. However, the Change Project believes that if we understand energy is in play between these two, and learn how to use it, creating changes will become easier and more enjoyable.

The Change Project: You Are the Change

A simple shift in perspective can change the perception of your entire life. This slice of truth is the impetus behind the Change Project, an endeavor to change people’s perspective so they can discover their true limitless potential. Consisting of a film, book, website, and screening/lecture tour, this project provides ample opportunity to learn how unconscious thoughts, behaviors, and emotions have created your life and the world that we live in today. It also offers practical methods for you to delve into your current thought patterns and insert the ones that will steer your life in the direction you want to go.

This unity of consiousness and matter that defines your life and our world has been dubbed the Theory of LifeParticles by Ilchi Lee. LifeParticles are what he has called the smallest units of life—they make and move everything. Everything in existence is a gathering of LifeParticles, including your thoughts and intentions, which affect LifeParticles as well. The Theory of LifeParticles explains the ability of all human beings to create their reality.

The Change Project begins this month with the premier screening of the film Change: The LifeParticle Effect at the Sedona Creative Life Center in Sedona, Arizona on April 16, 2013. The premiere is sponsored by the Sedona Meditation Center at 340 Jordan Rd, which provides yoga and meditation based on the methods Ilchi Lee has developed. The rest of the tour is sponsored by Dahn Yoga & Health Centers, Inc. and Body + Brain Holistic Yoga centers. Brain Education News: IBREA Completes Reinforcement and Final Research in Four Schools in San Salvador

By the Editor

Last week, the International Brain Education Association (IBREA) held a closing ceremony for the Brain Education project they have been conducting at four schools in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador, in which Ilchi Lee’s Brain Education method is incorporated into the curriculum and culture of the schools. By the end of this project, ninety-five teachers were certified as Brain Education instructors there.

IBREA closing ceremony for teachers in El Salvador

In the month leading up to the ceremony, IBREA evaluated the teachers’ and principals’ application of Brain Education in the four schools. They also held intensive three-hour sessions at each of the schools to reinforce the educators’ capacity to teach Brain Education to their students. Most of the teachers are currently giving ten to fifteen minutes of Brain Education before their classes; others are gathering different classes in the morning in the schoolyard and doing a joint Brain Education class to start the day. Others are teaching in their communities. One teacher is giving Brain Education to her whole church community where she is a leader. She holds classes of sixty to seventy people weekly.

They all reported changes in their students related to better focus, less absenteeism, more motivation, and better attention in class. Many teachers share how the whole culture in the schools has changed—from separation to collaboration, from negativity to positive attitudes, from a passive mentality to a proactive one.

The Ministry of Education, the program’s main partner and co-host of the closing ceremony, emphasized their appreciation of the program’s benefits related to reduced absenteeism, more motivation, and better academic achievement. Representatives of the ISBM (the teacher’s health and wellbeing institute), a new partner to the project, also participated in the ceremony. They announced their commitment to support the expansion of Brain Education nationally to 180 schools as part of a next phase, as well as to a group of psychologists and doctors who are a part of their team. ISBM believes that if principals and educators across the country learn to manage their stress well, they will have healthier and happier teachers, thereby reducing healthcare costs.

The 180 schools for the next Brain Education project were carefully picked by the Ministry of Education based on their leadership and capability, seeking an impact of the project at the national level. The Ministry has also agreed to fund sixty percent of the total cost of the 180-school project. The rest will be funded by IBREA through donations by its supporters.

In preparation for the next project, IBREA conducted a Brain Education workshop at the University of El Salvador, where they are planning to develop a module for the curriculum of the Bachelor of Arts in teaching.

IBREA workshop at the University of El Salvador

The Brain Education project in El Salvador began with a three-month pilot in Distrito Italia in Tonacatepeque, in which IBREA provided Brain Education to twenty-four educators (including twenty-one teachers and three health workers) and thirty-nine children age fourteen to sixteen. The project’s results were measured and documented. The research showed significant positive changes in peer relationships, anxiety, self-regulation, symptoms of trauma, stress management, and levels of violence in the school and community. After the success of this pilot, the Ministry of Education supported the expansion to four schools in 2012.

IBREA’s work in El Salvador is part of a larger endeavor to bring Brain Education to developing countries around the world in cooperation with the United Nations Permanent Representations. They currently have expanding projects in Liberia and the Philippines.
