What Is True Liberation?

Today marks the 70th anniversary of Korean liberation from occupation by Japan. It has me reflecting on what is meant by true liberation. I think true liberation is liberation of people’s spirit. True liberation is only possible when the current era of material civilization has ended and a new spiritual civilization begins.

Who is capable of making that happen?
Who will carry out this great work?
Those questions reverberate in my heart and in my brain.

The answer I received is . . . me, and you. It’s whoever chooses it.
I chose it after my initial enlightenment on Mount Moak 35 years ago, and I choose it again each day and each moment. No one asked me to do it or gave me a title for it or a degree in it. I just chose it. It’s why I developed  Brain Education and initiated the Earth Citizen Movement.

Many other people on the planet are choosing this work as well, and I hope many more will. I consider these people great treasures. They are leaders who know their purpose on this planet at this time. They feel the pull to see what lies beyond the material things we can experience with our five senses. They know their true and everlasting selves and strive to express them in their life and show others how to do that as well.

As I honor, today, the countless patriotic martyrs who laid down their lives for the liberation of Korea, I also honor these spiritual liberators.

Perhaps if you are reading this, you feel called to discover your true spirit and lead the steady march toward a spiritual civilization of peace, harmony, freedom, and compassion. I hope you listen to this call and answer it with all your might.
